Next Generation 500 recall chassis

_TITAN is complete recall system designed to provide total integration with your beloved analogue equipment. It extends 500 series connector with additional pins where modules can be designed to support digital recall or any other vendor specific functionalities. This extension is part of new open standard “ng500” – “Next Generation 500 series” which allows other manufacturers to design and implement digitally controlled analog devices.

IAC – INTERNAL AUDIO CONNECTOR
At slot number 10, _TITAN implements special connector, which routes all audio signals from and to, slots 1 – 8. This allows future integration with audio interface modules, analog summing modules or patchbays. INPUT source for any slot is implemented through analog relays, and it is configurable through standalone application. This prevents two different signal sources to be routed to the same module.

Fully discrete mic/instrument 500 series preamp with two modes of operation

Preamp circuit is switchable between two amps: RED and GREEN. RED mode is a British classic style preamp (1073) and GREEN is an American vintage style preamp (discrete op-amp). Both preamps have unique sonic textures known as a best classical sound preamps.
Carnhill transformers are responsible for matching impedance and de/symmetrization circuits. Preamp is loaded with two PADs: IN 20dB PAD and OUT 8dB PAD which allows to saturate both preamp and output transformer.
Additionally DUE-PRE has front input XLR Combo socket which can be used in both ways: as a mic input and as a instrumental input. Instrumental input is a high impedance input of which signal feeds input transformer through FET transistor. Module can draw up to 5W of power.

Vari-mu Tube Compressor

As always It’s all about compression so we’ve created “Timbre” – an all tube vari-mu compressor based on the 6386 tube, inspired by the old, famous and much desired Gates STA-Level compressor. The Timbre is easy to use, full of color and sweetness. It is a vintage-style compressor made from the highest quality of components.

Augmenting the design, we have added new features like the third mode of operation with shorter attack time, a high-pass sidechain filter, a link for stereo operation and a bypass function. Timbre utilizes a novel programme controlled release circuit which creates density and consistency while minimizing typical compressor side-effects at up to 40dB of gain reduction!

FET compressor/limiter

The introduction of several significant structural  improvements against the original version. One of the most important changes is two mode switch – Modern / Vintage –  deciding  on the circuit of the desymmetrization of the input signal. Modern Mode – is an  electronic circuit, exactly the same as the previous version of the compressor and the Vintage mode – it’s a Carnhill input transformer. The result is a universal device with two different sound possibilities.

A True Bypass switch was introduced,  as well as  a high-pass filter in the Compressor’s  Side Chain  path.There are three cutoff frequencies – 60, 90, 150 Hz – thanks to which Beta76 is less sensitive to low frequencies. The filter is particularly beneficial to the operation of two compressors in a stereo pair, which are easily connected with a  prepared Jack-Jack cable.

The entire system operates in class A. The element responsible for the gain reduction is a  FET transistor,  giving the effect of rapid and pure compression. There is a  high quality Carnhill audio transformer  on the output favourably affecting the final sound of the compressor.
The housing is made from high quality brushed stainless steel, whereas  the panel  is 4mm brushed aluminium.

Supercarrier II is a second generation of our very popular Supercarrier I – 500 series standardized chassis. It features 11 slots with innovative ISP technology.
ISP – Independent Slot Power – is a solution which makes a huge breakthrough in 500 series powering system, it allows best accommodation for even most demanding 500 series modules. So what it is all about ? The answer is very simple – based on the ISP technology, each slot is individually supplied with linear power, causing each module to work in totally isolated, and independent way. To say it simple, it is like each of 11 modules would work in separate 500 series frames, what makes it ideal environment for your beloved hardware – without any interference, noise, pops or clicks.  To separate each slot even more, we introduced a tantalum caps for each slot to clean the whole frequency spectrum from any other unwanted noise. The chassis itself, is powered by big 100W toroid external supply.

Single channel passive equalizer with a tube amplifying stage

The equalizer input system is based on a  Carnhill linear transformer which matching input impedance.  The input impedance is > 1.5 kohm. It Is higher than in  similar class devices. As a result, the equalizer does not load the signal source, by which it is controlled. The equalization block is a passive system based on coils, resistors and capacitors. The block has been expanded with additional bands for LOW and HIGH section. The EQ section introduces a high attenuation,  exceeding  25dB. A signal regenerative  amplifier is a  tube system,  based on two triodes. The amplifier has been designed without feedback which does not distort transients.

The equalizer output is symmetrical. A  Carnhill transformer is responsible for output symmetrization, which provides a low output impedance. The anode and heater voltage are stabilized. WesAudio LC-EQP is powered by alternating current 230V / 115V, which can  be selected by a  voltage selector. The casing is 2U rack  made of 1.5mm stainless steel whereas the aluminum front panel is 4mm. LOW section has separate boost regulations and frequency cut offering six bands. HIGH BOOST section has a selection of 12 bands and a regulation of  Q factor . HIGH CUT section is equipped with 6 bands. An EQ IN switch is a  “True Bypass” type. Switching the equalizer is indicated by a red LED.

WesAudio LC-EQP sound can be described as clean and clear with a tube nature. It is an ideal equalizer on both, single  tracks and the sum. LC-EQP WesAudio handles well controlling  other studio devices thanks to low output impedance. It was designed  as a universal musical equalizer to use in professional recording studios.
